Правильно подобранная музыка помогогает с головой окунуться
в мир АДоМа. Для меня такой музыкой является музыка группы
Blind Guardian. И хотя в обычной жизни я предпочитаю панк и
гранж, игру в АДоМ без кассеты BG я не могу себе представить.
Blind Guardian
- это: Хэнси Курш (Hansi Kursch), поющий и иногда играюший на бас-гитаре, Андрэ Олбрих (Andre Olbrich) - гитара back вокал, Маркус Зипен (Marcus Siepen), гитара. На барабанах играет Томас Штаух (Thomas Stauch). Группа возникла в небольшом германском городе Крефелд (в пригородах которого по сей день находится их студия записи) под влиянием RPG игр и металлической группы Helloween.Реализованные в 1985 две демо-версии "Symphonies of Doom" и "Battalions of Fear" были вполне успешными для этой группы, особенно последняя. После этого барды решили изменить название своей группы на что-нибудь менее радикальное, чем "Lucifer's Heritage", и новым названием группы стало "Слепой страж" (Blind Guardian). Заключив в 1986 контракт с No Remorse Records, они выпустили свой первый альбом, называющийся "Батальоны Ужаса" (Battalions of Fear, 1986). Влияние трилогии Джона Толкиена "The Lord of the Rings" весьма заметно в этом альбоме, особенно в Majesty.Лучшие песни, на мой взгляд, Majesty и Ru

В альбоме были композиции, сочетающие в себе как тяжесть традиционного металла, так и мелодичность, что создавало совершенно уникальный, "Blin
d Guardian'овский" стиль музыки. Обложка к альбому была нарисована Андреасом Маршаллом, ветераном в дизайне обложек для популярных металл-бандов. Начиная с этого альбома группа нашла свой стиль, и впервые для BG прозвучавшая баллада - The Lord of the Rings существенно подняла класс группы на несколько уровней вверх. Самые клёвые композиции этого альбома - The Lord of the Rings, The Last Candle и Traveller in Time. В альбом также вошла "живая" "Run for the Night" с "Battalions".Заключив в 1991 году контракт с звукозаписывающей фирмой Virgin Records (ибо No Remorse обанкротилась), Blind Guardian выпустили в 1992 году свой, наверное, один из самых лучших альбомов - "Где-то там далеко" (Somewhere Far Beyond, 1992). Мелодичные баллады в этом альбоме перемеживались с довольно тяжелыми классическими металлическими композициями. "Песни Бардов" (The Bard's Songs) должны были стать синглами, но, к сожалению, их раскрутка была очень слабой, и они так ими и не стали. Вторая акустическая баллада Blind Guardian - In the
Forest оказалась еще лучше первой. В альбом также вошли два ковера - Queen'овская Spread Your Wings и Trial by Fire от Satan. Лучшие композиции с этого альбома - естественно, In the Forest, также Theatre of Pain и The Hobbit. Годом спустя, вослед за Deep Purple группа записала "живой" альбом в Японии, называющийся "Истории Токио" (Tokyo Tales, 1993). Альбом был составлен из концертных записей тура BG по Японии.Следующий альбом был записан в 1995 году и назывался "Воображение с Другой Стороны" (Imaginations From the Other Side, 1995), и этот альбом был выпущен с помощью и под руководством Флемминга Расмуссена (Flemming Rasmussen), ранее помогавшему выпускать некоторые альбомы Металлики (Metallica). Очень многие считают, что IFTOS - лучший альбом за всю историю BG. Действительно, потрясающие "средневековые" песни - A Past and Future Secret, The Script for My Requiem, Mordred's Song и изумительная Imaginations from the Other Side подтверждают это право. Bright Eyes.В 1996 Blind Guardian записали "Забытые истории" (Forgotten Tales, 1996), в который, кроме старых хитов, вошли некоторые новые, известные как To France, Surfing USA, Spread Your Wings и Barbara Ann. Последние не являлись собственными песнями BG, а были только сыграны группой.) Как обычно, после выпуска альбома банда устроила себе мировое турне, называющееся "The Forgotten Tour". Отметим здесь, кстати, что этот альбом стал первым, официально начавшим распространяться во Франции.
И, наконец, 27 апреля 1998 года, вышел их новый альбом "Сумрак над Среднеземьем" (Nightfall on Middle-Earth)- самый большой альбом по количеству композиций. Как видно из названия, альбом создан по произведениям Д. Толкиена (J.R.R. Tolkien), в основном, по "Сильмариллиону" (Silmarillion). Внутри лицензионного CD можно (по слухам) даже прочитать некоторые главы из "Сильмариллиона", по которым и писались тексты к песням. В последнее время Хэнси Курш все больше поет, нежели играет на бас-гитаре, и поэтому во время тура, которое BG провели после выпуска альбома в группу был временно приглашен басс-гитарист Оливер Холдсворт.
По слухам, по обрыкам фраз в интервью вырисовывается такая картина. Во-первых, три песни, не вошедшие в Nightfall - баллада Harvest of Sorrow, и две тяжелые композиции - "Of Elves and Dwarves" и "Turin Turambar" уже записаны и войдут бонус-треками в новый альбом. Далее, в планах группы - запись еще одного или двух концептуальных альбомов. Один, возможно, будет посвящен "Смерти Артура" Мэллори или "Кольцу Нибелунгов". После IFTOS у группы вроде бы остались некоторые "средневековые" песни, не вошедшие в тот альбом. С другой стороны, новый альбом может быть посвящен "Аккалабет" (Падение Нуменора). И, наконец, давняя мечта Хэнси и Андрэ - написать рок-оперу по "The Lord of the Rings"! К тому же нельзя не связать с этим всем бум, возникший вокруг первой экранизации трилогии Толкиена! Слухи ходят во множестве: начиная с того, что BG будет озвучивать саундтреки к фильму и кончая тем, что Хэнси будет играть в фильме роль стража Цитадели ;) Что касается сроков, то альбом должен появиться не раньше конца 2000 - начала 2001 года.
